Word from the Devs: What a Month!

Greetings Vikings!

We can’t believe it’s only been a scant few weeks since we released 1.0. We’re so happy to see so many new and returning players alike, and we’re grateful for all the love you’ve shown us so far. Without you, we wouldn’t be here, so thank you!

We’re thrilled to say that we have even been nominated in as many as three categories for this year’s Golden Joystick Awards! You can vote for Valheim for Best Multiplayer Game, Best Indie Game and PC Game of the Year, and voting is open until October 23!

As you might have noticed, we’ve been putting out a bunch of bug fixing patches over the past weeks, and we will continue to do so, looking over both bugs and balancing tweaks. We thank you for your patience as we iron out all of the wrinkles, and if you do encounter a bug, please make a report and we will take a look as soon as we are able.

In the wake of 1.0 we’ve also been dropping a bunch of other announcements on our social channels. In case you have missed one or some of them, we thought we’d sum them up for you in this post.

On the merch front, we’ve launched another Kickstarter with Heroic Replicas, where you can get your hands on cool new items like the Valkyrie blanket, or get a new chance to get a shield replica. We also have a new batch of scented candles with Cantrip Candles, with the Meadows, Mistlands and Deep North joining the roster. Finally, we have announced a limited edition hoodie together with Makeship, perfect as the weather is getting colder.

We’ve also teased that Valheim is getting its own concert – one in Stockholm and one in Paris – next year. Tickets, as well as more cities, will be available soon, so if you’re interested you should sign up to that mailing list.

Another thing on the horizon for next year is that Valheim is entering the world of comic books! We have an absolutely incredible team working on bringing the tenth realm to the page, and we really hope you’ll like what they’re cooking up. On our website you will find some sneak peeks, as well as a link to sign up for more information.

We suspect you might wonder what else is in store for Valheim. We can promise you that there are more content updates coming, though exactly what that content will be, we can’t reveal just yet. Simply rest assured that there is more in the works for Valheim, and we will be sure to announce it when we have news!

With that said, we also want to let you know that as 1.0 has been released, these Words from the Devs will no longer be monthly. Instead we will simply update you when we have news for you, and we hope you won’t miss us too much!

To sign off, we want to once again share the fantastic song and music video from Miracle of Sound – because Valheim really is about the stories that you have to tell, and about taking your fate into your own hands.
